Not working with Garmin Vivo Active? think again

So I was looking for a leather alternative to my silicone strap for my vivo active and didn't want to pay for Garmin straps. They said it was a 20mm strap, so why doesn't that strap work (well, Garmin would certainly prefer to lock me up to buy their straps)? I tried 20mm black leather despite warnings from the seller that these straps would not work. Well I took them and put them on and in fact they fell off as soon as I tried to put the watch on. Oh no! But I insisted, having seen other reviews, that this group really works. I finally found that if I squeeze the lever a little more to secure the pin in the hole it won't fall out. The spring in these quick release straps isn't as strong as Garmin straps, and the tough leather makes it difficult to fully fit the hole. I've been wearing it for a while now, pulling it on, putting it on and taking it off with no problem. I'll probably buy another one with the money I saved from not buying a Garmin strap.
