Review on Front Door Radio Speaker - GM Genuine Parts 25943916 by Matthew Outlaw

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Still working in my Pontiac G5 after 3 years! See my fitment tip

I bought this speaker about 3 years ago to replace my 2009 Pontiac G5 because I can no longer get sound from the driver's door speaker. The driver door speaker is also the speaker that emits the sound so you know when the car door is open or the turn signals are on. The reason the door speakers fail in the Pontiac G5 is because the weatherstrips on the outside of the door allow water and moisture to easily enter the door and reach the speaker. It was very easy to replace the standard speaker with this AC Delco speaker. once removed the inner panel of the door. Now here's my installation tip: The only thing I did in hopes the speaker would last was wrap plastic wrap around the back of the speaker before gluing it in the car door and just trimming off the excess. I thought this would help keep the speaker and connectors from getting wet, which it did! I installed this replacement speaker in my G5 in December 2016 and am happy to report that it is still working. There's no magical sound improvement from standard speakers (if they worked), but they just work. That's all I needed. Seriously, replacing these speakers in a Pontiac/Cobalt is easy, but if you're not mechanically inclined, check out the YouTube video for more instructions.
