but was concerned that the traditional small dog harness could be easily removed from

Moving from the country to the suburbs, I knew my three-legged cat, Mr. Living next to a busy street full of cars, wanted to I don't think he hit another car and lost another limb. I was worried he would have a hard time moving but at first he seemed to be enjoying the heating and air conditioning. However, I noticed that once spring came and we had the windows of the house open, he became more and more desperate to get outside. I started by letting him spend time on our second floor deck but quickly realized that wasn't going to work in the long run as he kept trying to dive with the bomb on the side. I researched cat harness options but was concerned that the traditional small dog harness could easily be pulled out. I've also read many reviews of other "cat harnesses" that talked about how their feline companions walk and walk. It was definitely something I wanted to avoid, considering we were in a scary new place with lots of cars, kids, and new sounds he'd never heard before. I liked the idea of the kitty holster because it was easy to loosen and tighten with a strong velcro strap. I also liked the fact that it was vest-like, which reminded me of the jackets you see in pet stores to help animals stay calm and feel safe. When the cat holster arrived, I immediately wanted to try it out. I had read horror stories about cats getting cold and refusing to walk, so I wanted to see how he behaved. * Note that Mr. Tab Tubs is an extremely friendly, calm kitty who acts more like a dog than a cat! If your cat is a coward, this product may not be for you!* I put a vest on him and he didn't seem to care; He was more interested in the leash I attached to the ring on my back and wanted to play with it. However, I called him at the front door and he came running; I think he knew he was going outside. We sat on the porch for a good 20 minutes letting him inspect the flower beds and newly planted bushes. We also had him explore the ground where our lawn was about to be planted before it started raining. He was a little "crazy" when some kids came by on their scooters because they were loud and he wasn't into cars, but he was pretty good considering he was in a new place with new sounds. and smells. He can really wear the vest for about 30 minutes or so before he's ready to take it off, so we try to let him get outside a bit in the evenings. We also take him on the occasional short drive to the football field to get him used to travelling. Overall I am very satisfied with the quality of the vest and its stability. My biggest concern was that the velcro would hold once he started walking because he was scared of what he was doing! I would definitely recommend this holster to anyone who wants to try taking their cat outside simply because it protects the kitty inside in case of a startle.
