When this mat arrived I took it out of the box and packaging, it has a crease down the middle so it doesn't lay flat because it took so long to fold for shipping. I thought if I put something heavy on it it would flatten out, but not yet. I put it on the floor for my cat (we have carpet) and at first she just looked at it and after 5-10 minutes she came up and started scratching it, I was so happy! BUT when she scratched it would move all over the carpet and keep going up so she couldn't get a hold of it properly, it made her so miserable she went back to the old cardboard scratcher! She wants to use it, every time she comes over she tries to scratch him but she can't. So I had to buy double sided tape to hold the mat in place. It's okay not great so I think I'll move the rug to another room and secure the sides under heavy furniture for her to use! I guess I'll go back to the scratching post, spend more money, I don't have to see if it works. She is 12 years old and loves to use everything on the floor! WILL NOT BUY SO ANYTHING!
