Review on AEM 21 703C Intake System Fiesta by Christopher Clearfield

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Tried it for the first time - very satisfied.

Took me about 3 or 4 hours to install - I've never worked on my car and it was getting dark. However, the instructions were decent, but I would link to a YouTube video. It seriously made my 2011 Fiesta a lot more fun. I've had my Fiesta for 6 years now and paid it off in the first month. Before I installed this I sometimes lost speed on big hills, but now I can just drive over them. Much easier to fit into the flow of traffic or meet people when needed. I have slightly better gas mileage on the freeway at 80-90 mph (originally 32-33 mpg, now 34.5). The low MPG speed also improved, but I noticed that the difference was bigger at the higher speed. How it sounds. I've found that I try not to put on the gas too much because it really lets people know you're off the gas. A pleasant rumble in the city / quarters in low gears. However, as soon as you step on the pedal you can really hear it flare and open, like it's opening that tube. It's cute, but I find myself grinning sheepishly and looking around like I farted. The intake pipe had a lip on one end that was bent inward and also dented along the body/shaft. I ended up using pliers to bend the lip back and while it wasn't a perfect circle it worked well. I felt like I had to dock a star, but oh well.

Pros
  • Moves the air filter to the outside of the engine bay
Cons
  • Concise Instructions
