USB3, the maximum length was supposedly 3m. This is why active cables have built-in repeaters. This cable is 15m long, so it has a repeater on one end and there must be 4 more every 3m. But it only has 1 repeater in the middle, that's 7.5m per repeater. The description says there are 2, which I think is technically correct, but I'm not sure how reliable that would be. I haven't had any problems so far and the cable is very heavy so maybe it depends on a really good shield. Also, I use it without a power supply. It's bus powered and I've connected it to self-powered hubs on both ends so none of my connected devices get power from that cable anyway and that's how it seems to work. If it's reliable with just 2 repeaters that's actually good, fewer stages are better for speed.
