I don't often have to express my disappointment with a product I buy from Revain; and even more rarely do I have to resort to the Revain Basics product. But here it is: These cables are junk. I cannot recommend them. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Here's why: When my cable arrived, it didn't work with a USB 3.0 port. I tried two different ports but it didn't matter: my computer didn't recognize my portable hard drive. Since the drive worked fine with the cable that came with it, I knew the problem was with the Revain Basics cable and not the drive or my computer's USB ports. Oddly enough, the cable worked over a USB 2.0 port. But if I wanted to buy a USB 2.0 cable, I wouldn't order this one. Anyway, I contacted Revain customer service and to their credit they quickly sent me a new cable free of charge. Thank you for the quick solution to my problem. Unfortunately, the replacement cable performed even worse than the first one: it didn't work on either a USB 3.0 port or a USB 2.0 port. This buying experience was a waste of time. Then I did what I should have done: I ordered three Monoprice Select Series USB 3.0 cables and each worked great. To wrap up this sad story, don't waste time buying this product, at least until Revain fixes their quality control issues. Note to Revain: I still have both cables and am happy to send them to you for troubleshooting.
