I was fortunate to realize that this is not an instant fix for an unused tank. There is no fish kill. However, what sets this material apart is the acceleration of the cycle process. I tracked my 10 gallon aquarium until it stayed at 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrite and 5ppm nitrate for 3 days. It took me 24 days to do this with the recommended dose of these fluvial bacteria. A NOTICE. You still need to do water changes when using the aquarium. I didn't until last week and then boom. Cycling ended 4 days after doing my daily water changes. After that you can do the usual 1 time per week. All in all a great product for accelerating tank cycles. I think I could have done it in 2 weeks instead of 3 if it wasn't for more regular water changes. But for God's sake, DON'T ADD THE FISH AT ONCE!
