I wanted something like this next to my computer so it wouldn't collect as much dust. It seems to work. Setup is easy and instructions are included should you need them. (Actually, you should read them because they contain good information.) In a few minutes, my skin was clear. It makes a faint noise, but not much. My computer is pretty quiet and I can hear it, but if I'm playing a game or listening to music I wouldn't even notice it. Please note that this is for small spaces, so you won't be cleaning the air in camp with this bad boy. UPDATE: As good as this filter is, it's of no use if you can't buy a replacement filter. I've searched everywhere and couldn't find one online that I know would fit. It's a shame, because the device itself is quite good, but without the possibility of replacing a dirty filter, I can't recommend it.
