I bought my last remote in April 2019 and it worked great on a daily basis turning my home security system on and off. But I had to replace it in July 2021 because the graphics on the right side were completely erased and the left side was also about to disappear. While I understand this is an inexpensive consumable product, I still find it difficult to take my remote to my security provider to have them program a new remote. The second problem I've encountered with these remote controls is the alarm activating accidentally. I used to have it attached to a carabiner clipped to a belt loop but I had to move it because while I was working in my shop somehow a button was pressed and my alarm went off and the police came multiple times. Now I wear it on a chain around my neck, and while it doesn't happen that often, it still activates. Perhaps the higher protrusions around the keys will solve this problem.
