UPDATE: Note the small burn marks on the upper left side of the device where it blinked and flashed briefly when I took it out of the phone! You could smell the burning metallic smoke before it went out. So, out of the 6 cables we started with (paid for 4, got a replacement kit from Revain), 1 caught fire, 1 never worked, and 2 stopped working after a few months. There are two left that are less than a year old and now I'm afraid to use them. No matter what power source I used or what compatible device I used, the cable just stopped working. I've only been using it for a few weeks and the dire hasn't been twisted or forced into any unusual positions. Wouldn't buy again.
