I was afraid it was soap, not solvent. It seems that the solvents in many products are already hard to come by. It doesn't seem to be as good an engine degreaser as gunk solvent but it seems to work better than a soap product, it actually works quite well. So I can't say what the substance is, just that it might be acceptable as a degreaser. It doesn't seem to rinse off as well as the old engine degreaser solvent and requires wiping down surfaces when rinsing with water. It doesn't turn into a white emulsion on rinsing like the old version. I'm disappointed that I can't seem to get solvent in this type of atomizer.
