Review on Wemo Smart Dimmer Light Switch With Thread: The Ultimate Smart Home Solution For Apple HomeKit by Jared Aguilar

Major downgrade from V1

I purchased several of the V2 smart dimmers direct from Belkin/Wemo. The new edition may add Thread support, but the UX of these switches is now probably the worst in the business. The V1 model used an LED indicator to show the dimming level of the lights and allowed you to slide your finger to set a dimming level. The new version has no visual indicators, and also doesn't allow for sliding to choose the light level. Dimming the lights requires holding the up or down button, and waiting for the light to dim to an appropriate level. This leads to constantly overshooting or undershooting the target level.Possibly the most disappointing element of these switches is the poor connectivity. I have solid wifi, and my first switch install was in the same room as my wired Apple TV thread hub. The switch has only worked through homekit once, it is constantly showing "updating status" the rest of the time. Incredibly disappointing when the selling point of these switches is that they are the only thread border router dimmers on the market, and they don't even work correctly. I returned to Belkin.Keep looking or grab the V1 which is much better even though it lacks thread features.
