After other tapes I had tried for a 6 mil plastic vapor barrier over the bare insulation failed and came off after a few days, I resorted to tape and ordered this mainly because of the price. I didn't realize at the time that the dimensions were a bit odd, so opening the box was a big surprise. I didn't know they made duct tape that wide! As it turned out, the wide band worked much better than the regular band for my purposes. This tape is extremely sticky - not only does it hold the 6mm cut edges well, but it also sticks very well to the heavier airtight plastic boxes around sockets and switches. It also sticks terribly to my fingers and to itself; I had to use short pieces rather than long ones because they are so thin and flexible that longer pieces always ended up in sticky curls. I cut it with scissors, but my hands tear it in any direction without much effort. So far I have used one and a half rolls and I am very satisfied.
