Review on Stainless Steel Exhaust 06 12 PASSAT by James Arellano

Revainrating 1 out of 5

2012 VW EOS - Looking good. PRE RUST

UPDATED RATING: 10/25/20 Downgraded to 1 star Obviously they are NOT MADE OF STAINLESS STEEL as described. I looked at the pipes. Less than 30 days from installation and ROST on supposed stainless steel tips. See side view for rust on suspected stainless steel tips. Therefore not suitable for areas/climates that get wet. Please only use in the coastal areas of Saudi Arabia, not in the United States where there is such a thing as "rain". And forget the guarantee. Cannot find contact or warranty information. So stay away If you don't want to buy every month. ORIGINAL RATING I LEFT FROM 4 STARS BELOW - early October. Non-side images are original before RUST START. So I got these overhead pipe caps fast. I recently got a 2012 VW EOS. The exhaust is only covered in carbon, which is a known issue with EOS and I've heard of the Passat. So I thought it would be nice to have some shiny exhaust pipes. Very easy to put on. BUT. elephant in space. The brackets/metal fasteners are at the top. Well, given the way my VW EOS is made, due to the nature of the rear bumper/body panels I am unable to fit a ratchet into this upper area. apocalypse. I just tightened it as much as I could and got it on anyway. They don't really turn much and that's a VW EOS. I don't take it to car shows or show it off. After a while I have to rotate it a little. Not so much from driving that it falls over or spins 180 degrees. It would only be nice if the clasps/puffs were at the bottom. Therefore 4 out of 5. Still looks great. And from time to time it is necessary to wipe the coal that accumulates. But that's life. It's definitely not the slipons fault. Easily erased. And so far as good as head/weather builds on chrome.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
