We used a set of rubber stoppers and a pump to keep our open wine bottles fresh for years. It works well and certainly does its job. However, the pump puts a strain on your hands. These corks are just as good at keeping wine fresh, PLUS they're a lot easier to use than a pump. You simply place the cork on the bottle neck and start squeezing. The cork will start to suck the air out of the bottle. Stop when you feel stiff resistance and you're done! To remove the stopper, simply rock it back and forth until it pops out. These stoppers have a dial at the top with the numbers 1-31, which correspond to the numbers in the month. Turn the dial to the bottle open date so you always know how long the wine has been open.
