Review on Manfrotto Element Traveller Aluminum 5 Section by Joshua Pilla

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great tripod for on the go! Still a little heavy, but perfect for the price.

Overall, I really liked this tripod. It's easy to pull out of your pocket and quick to assemble. Likewise, disassembly is not difficult. Converting to a monopod takes no more than 45 seconds. I wish it was maybe a pound lighter but you get what you pay for - I'm happy with my decision. I preferred it to the Element Traveler Small because of the detachable monopod leg on this model and the more durable construction (although the small is also very well built). Pros: - Legs have enough tension to stay folded when carried and only hold on to one leg. Rugged with Canon 6D and 16-35mm (3.1lb) lens in full extension - Foam on one leg (monopod leg) for cold weather - Easy to assemble/fold - Fits in camelbak bag (barely) Cons: - Probably too heavy for real mountaineering. The carrying case it comes in is too big. The ball head can be removed very easily. many in others. It doesn't automatically stop halfway through everyone.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons

The tripod itself is nice, not a fan of the stock ball head ...
