Review on GIMP by Mark Harris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Free for noncommercial photography & photo manipulation

I like that it's free to use (as in cost), easy-to-use, has many plugins available from third party developers, can be used offline/cloud without an internet connection or plugin dependency issues. The interface isn't very intuitive at first; there are some things you have to figure out yourself if they aren't already explained within the program itself. For example, how do I change my brush size? To me this seems more complicated than other programs which just let you select what amount of pixels your brush should cover. If anyone wants something simple but powerful then definitely give gimp a try! You won't regret using it once you start playing around with all its features. My primary purpose was editing photos after having been uploaded onto social media sites by clients who were unaware of their rights under copyright laws regarding images taken offsite.
