I bought this for my mother who is 90 years old and has a hearing loss. I didn't even like talking to her on the phone anymore because it was so annoying to repeat or not let her understand what I was saying. This phone was very helpful. Your hearing is much better. Calling out loud and saying a phone number will help. The announcement is a bit difficult to understand because the recording speaks very fast, but they repeat it. She's so used to looking at the screen to see who's calling, but I think she's getting used to it. She doesn't know how to use her cell phone and doesn't want to learn or even try. A backup battery in case of power outages is a nice reassurance that you can use it when the power goes out.
