I had the original X-acto set many years ago and this new Fanci set is almost as good as it is. I also have a new X-acto set and the holders are terrible in comparison. about this Fancii set. So if you are looking for a hobby knife set, skip the X-acto and go for this one. The only downside is that the holders aren't as strong as the old (30 year old) hobby knife sets and the set's plastic holder either holds too well or not at all. I had to put glue on the magnetic blade holder. The small handle is so heavy that it is dangerous to have a blade in it. While the larger aluminum holder almost falls out. The original X-acto wooden case set has a far inferior molded plastic holder by comparison.
