Review on Likein 5-Tier Open Bookshelf: Stylish Storage Organizer for Bedroom, Living Room, and Office by Christy Brewer

Easy and quick to assemble (although the instructions aren't very good)

Pretty good set of shelves. The instructions aren't very good, and some of my parts were mislabeled (both the top and bottom posts were labeled as below), but it's not hard to figure out. The kit comes with all the necessary tools (wrench, allen key and Phillips screwdriver) but there are MANY long screws (20) to insert so assembly with an electric screwdriver is definitely a lot easier and quicker. I'd say it took me about half an hour to put everything together, but it can easily take 90 minutes or more if you have to screw in those screws by hand. The assembly is actually very easy and I was able to do it myself, although it would be easier if you had someone hold the shelves in place while you attach them. This is due to the fact that unreinforced MDF panels do not fail where the screws penetrate them. I would be more comfortable if the boards were held in place by brackets underneath rather than having screws stuck in the ends. But as I mentioned the bolts are quite long so this helps distribute the weight. However, eighty pounds is a lot. But the shelves seem strong enough and stable. And they look good. I put mine in my long closet in the hallway. I don't need all the space there for the bars so it made sense to add shelves on one side of the back. They free up the clothes rail by a few centimeters and leave enough space in front of you in the closet for things like a vacuum cleaner. I was really amazed at how little shelf space was taken up by the stuff I already stuffed in there, leaving me plenty of room to fit even more stuff in this closet, but in a much more accessible way. Basically, I'm happy with the shelves.

Pros
  • Multifunctional storage shelf
Cons
  • Anything I can add
