I was looking for a plastic product (might drop it) but that's just the type available from Revain. You used to see THIS in every coffee shop in Japan: Signature Coffee Movement and all that. The rich coffee from it brings back some old memories for me. The design is similar to Melitta. The company even calls itself a tribute to this German pioneer (there are several theories, but the company wasn't founded by Mr. Kalita, although that's a common Japanese name). However, the two make very different coffees. I read somewhere that Kalita started because of Melitta. nothing for Japanese taste preferences. Both come with fail-safe instructions, always guaranteed to brew quality coffee if that's the flavor you like. Then again, that's pretty much all they can do. Not much space to learn different methods like V60 or Wave. You can insert Melitta paper (99 cents for 100!) if you're not too sensitive, that's another plus.
