I have a 2015 MacBook Pro that tends to overheat and is *very* slow. Mac is disassembled and reinserted. I've put my Mac's aluminum case on a block of ice to keep the temperature cool and the Mac running smoothly, but manually cooling my laptop seems wrong to me. It arrived today and after setting it up my MacBook is still the coolest it has been in a long time. I love that you can choose from 5 corners to support it and I can still put an ice pack under the fans for maximum cooling. Given the chip shortage in 2021, it makes a lot of sense to have an analog dial to set the fan speed, and you can still tweak the fan speed. The laptop cooling pad is quieter than my MacBook's fan and will likely be quieter than any other overheat. Notebook. I can connect my iPhone for data transfer via the USB port. As with any random internet device, trust the USB at your peril, but I didn't get any warnings and I was able to transfer photos from my phone to my computer. I give it 5 stars with the caveat that I haven't tested it for durability. If you need a laptop cooler at a reasonable price, choose this one.
