Great price for what has been a great mount - attractive, seems secure (once I screw it on - read on for THAT "adventure"), great quality for not too much money. However, I would STRONGLY recommend using hardware, especially drywall anchors that you buy yourself and not the cheap ones that come with the kit. These are standard drywall anchors but the end is very long and pointy so hammer it in until you reach the steps and then screw it all the way down. The metal screw is then fed through the hole in the bracket and into the plastic anchor. The pointed end essentially serves to create a pilot hole for the stepped portion. I tried the first. The pointed end began to poke a hole in the drywall, but then began to buckle. I was afraid I might bump into the stand, but it was only a few millimeters away, not enough to go through the drywall. I figured that maybe one was just bad, so I decided to try a second anchor (and I'd do something different for a different mount). But when it came to the steps and I switched to a screwdriver, the steps started ruining my drywall. I could see the marks peeling away from the center of the anchor and the wallpaper I was walking through began peeling like a bubble around the hole. I continued, assuming it would still be covered by the bracket. I plugged it in and then screwed the bracket to the wall. The wall around the anchor didn't look good and the mount didn't feel secure - it wobbled a lot. I decided to give the first anchor another try, the one that started to bend thinking maybe it was an odd tight spot in the drywall or something. This time however I found a nail and made a pilot hole hoping it wouldn't stress the curved sharp end of the first anchor too much so I could get straight to the tread piece and screw it in. I tried tapping on the pilot hole, the whole pointed end broke off. I suspect it was too damaged when trying to use it on the first mount. Then I remembered I had other drywall anchors so I took them. Much higher quality, made of plastic, but similar to a pry bolt where the wings slide out of the drywall from the other side. I installed the second bracket with my own anchor and screw with no problem, but after feeling how secure it was and how tight it was to the wall, I knew something was wrong with the other anchor that was provided. Product. I decided to repeat this - I unscrewed both brackets and remade the first bracket about 1.5 inches higher than the first (because the bracket will cover that hole well). Then I redid the second bracket and spent the first mine. - own anchor as it was now too low and had to be rearranged. My dowels went in perfectly - installed easily without undue damage to the wallpaper - and before screwing in the brackets I looked at the original hole - traces of the first dowel had completely detached from the dowel! I took a pair of pliers and pulled the steps out of the drywall - after removing the center of the dowel they dug into my drywall, mostly away from where the hole was so the hole was twice the size of the wallpaper was dented raving about it, but at least the bracket covers that up. Two stars deducted for the lousy quality of the anchor and the irreparable damage it did to my wall.
