Good for fashion, no idea of durability

If you buy them to be fashionable in the rain, you can't think of anything better. You are charming. I bought them yes because they are cute but also because of Joel's reputation for durable boots and I bought them to wear on serious hikes in the Costa Rican rainforest where the mud can be as deep as a boot leg and you can run on some serious rough rocks. They held up despite the mud stains and the darkening of the artwork, although I washed the mud off after each hike. I go on this trip every year and last year my Joules ripped right at the seam between the sole and upper. I wish I could remember it was Joules because then I would have chosen a different brand this year. I haven't found a brand that survives more than one trip to the rainforest. In order not to risk these boots failing on the trip, I will try the Hunter brand next year. They also had a size issue. I had to buy two pairs, one a size 10 which was too big for me (my last pair of Joules was a size 10 and fit perfectly) and I had to downsize to a size 9 which is a bit tight but works for me. Sure a size 9.5 would be perfect but they don't come in 9.5 which I don't understand. People over size 9 also wear half sizes.

Pros
  • 100% rubber
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
