My 1 year old chow is amazing he is the gentlest chow I have ever met just like his father. However, sometimes he can be quite stubborn or overly focused on something, e.g. a rabbit or a squirrel, and as a result he completely ignores my commands at those moments. I decided to research a training method like training collars that might help me deal with his naughty behavior. Electrocution was out of the question because I think it's extreme and cruel. I came across this collar and for the price I decided it was worth the risk. I thought if it doesn't work for him maybe I could use the vibrate function in the bedroom ๐ I ended up buying the collar and to my surprise it worked pretty well, in fact it works amazingly well! It is very easy to use and I strongly recommend that you read the instructions and NOT do what I do and think you know how it works. Put the collar on your dog, set the vibration settings to MAX, THEN try to figure out how to use it. use it! In my defense, this method worked, but I'm now using the method recommended in the manual and gradually increasing the vibration setting, and here's why. He freaked out the first time I put the collar on! After that every time he saw the collar he would go to another room and stay there for a while, he also tried to avoid me putting the collar on him and resisted a bit. After a few weeks he got used to me putting a collar on him and eventually forgot he was wearing one! When he puts the collar on, he becomes a whole different dog! He becomes very attentive to me, listens to every command and is very obedient! From time to time he reverts to his old ways and disobeys my orders, but all it takes to get his attention is the sound of a collar. As soon as he hears the beep-beep of the collar, he realizes he's wearing a collar and becomes very obedient again! I haven't had any issues with the battery, but he only puts the collar on when we go outside. When the collar is not in use I either store it on the counter or leave it on the counter connected to the charger so I haven't had battery issues. The collar is quite cheaply made, so I wouldn't trust the metal clasp. Walk my 55 lb dog. I think he'll break it pretty quick! The only thing that bothers me is that sometimes I have to press the remote button multiple times to get the collar to respond, which can be quite intimidating or annoying depending on the current situation. you want to send a signal directly to the controller. Hopefully they can fix the responsiveness and the speed at which the collar responds to remote commands because the last thing I want is for my dog to run outside because the collar didn't respond or responded too late! I haven't tried waterproof. and I have no intention of doing so โบ In general the collar works most of the time and I am happy with my purchase. I hope you will too! **Updated 12/24/2020** on the remote control and then press and hold the LED button on the remote control. This is the same button that turns the LED on and off on the remote, it turns on a fairly bright white light on the collar.
