Review on Enhanced Vision: 12X42 Binoculars for Optimal Bird Watching, Hunting, Sightseeing, and Sports by Ian Iknokinok

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bright, clear view - no distortion

I have some more expensive binoculars but wanted an inexpensive set for my SUV. I also needed another pair of sunglasses so when I saw these I decided to try them out. The binoculars turned out to be much better than I expected. The first thing you notice is that the binoculars are comfortable to hold, as the outer shell is rubberized with a relief pattern in the grip area. I also like that the protective eyecup covers are one piece at the viewing end and the protective films are attached to the binoculars at the other end, making it easier to check rather than having to keep track of 4 lens covers. (See image.) These binoculars make it easy to adjust the fit and focus of the binoculars. The width of the binoculars and the two eyecups are easily adjustable and can be adjusted inwards or outwards for a comfortable fit. The observation lens of the right eye can also be focused separately, which is necessary for good visual acuity. Overall focusing is via a central knurled focus wheel. (See image.) After setup, I expected poor vision, but was pleasantly surprised at how good the optics of these binoculars are. The viewing scene is very bright and clear, with no noticeable distortion. For reference, I compared these binoculars to a larger and more expensive pair (50mm lens) and the brightness and image clarity of these binoculars was much higher. Finally, the included case and strap are of good quality and the sunglasses will definitely come in handy. . (I haven't tried the phone adapter.) Overall, I'm very happy with these binoculars. If I encounter any problems I will update this review.
