In general the goods are good. We had a mouse that got into our cutlery drawer. We caught it but I'm still scared another one is coming and I'm tired of washing the cutlery. I bought this for peace of mind and for the ease of opening the hinge, not the lid which I have to remove completely. I was concerned the top would be too high for the drawer but it fits perfectly when closed. I can close the drawer, it opens and closes easily. I want it to have a lip so it can be sealed tightly if desired, but I've had enough without it. Children can easily open and close. My picture shows 16 large spoons in one section and there probably isn't room for more. There are 11 knives and there is room for more in the other section. I didn't count the kids' cutlery but you can see it's there and all our forks are in the dishwasher. All this for your information. In this drawer I used to have a cutlery tray with serving cutlery and large knives but it didn't fit so I moved it to another drawer without a mouse (I think). I wish this block was bigger. It could be a little longer and a little wider. He does what he has to do. Of course there are things I would like to change, but it gets the job done.
