Review on WaterBasics Emergency Straw Filter BLU I 30 by Edgar Gomez

I bought these for survival/bug control as they seem to have the smallest footprint and weight on the filter straw market. I was dismayed to find the plastic filter cap and about 1/4 inch of carbon chipped in the pocket on one of the filters. Upon opening the package for further inspection, the entire carbon element fell out of the case. There is no way to fix this. The other filter was ok. This is definitely not a product I would trust as an emergency bag of any kind, at least not something you would go hiking with. That's a shame as I really wanted to like them given the niche they fill as a portable/compact water purification solution. The search for the perfect straw continues.
