Railing Wall DOESN'T WORK

To install on a railing, your railing must not have a hillock at the base and the two square parts of the railing must be a certain distance apart. This was not mentioned in the product description. I have square railings at the top and bottom and cylindrical ones in between. The distance between my two square portions is too big to work with this product. The supplied tension belts are not suitable for the round part. Also, the bar must touch the ground as it can slide freely in the ratchet straps. Ridiculous design. When I leave my rod on the ground the top ratchet strap doesn't reach the top square of my railing. In short, this won't work on a stucco base railing without screwing it into your railing if you have a lot of space between the square pieces of your railing. If your railing is round, forget it. If you have a skirting board, you will need to use spacers for the top two screws on the hinge side. There are three screw holes, but only two spacers are provided. Makes absolutely no sense. So you have to be content with only two fixing points on the wall. Finally, no templates are included. You will need to take your own measurements and work backwards to find a suitable spot to screw the hinge rod to the wall so the gate is level and will reach the lock. I bought her early when the little guy was only a few months old. I just took them out to install now that he's getting ready to run. Because of this I just got past the return window and am now stuck with these two terrible goals. Do not buy if any of the above apply to you.
