Steering Shaft Play/Play, Wheel rotated slightly clockwise with this part

The component has too much play/play in the telescopic shaft resulting in a steering dead zone large enough to concern me wrong with my installation. There was none. The split ring that goes on the rack splines had a small burr from cutting the rails into the split ring clamp that prevented the ring from slipping along the splines. I removed the burr after realizing the part was difficult to install and everything went pretty smoothly after that. The unevenness of the part creates play in the steering, which is very annoying to say the least. Also, the two ends of the part appear to be slightly offset. As others have noted this causes the steering wheel to become off center and rotate slightly to the right when the truck is going straight. I will return this part and buy a better one: the play in this part appears to be a worn steering shaft, not a new one. Garbage.
