I agree with others. This docking station should have come with the speaker, not for an extra $35. It's a good docking station, but it retails for around $10-15. Additionally, this dock acts as a raised notch in the base for routing the charging cable, allowing the dock to sit flush with the surface it sits on without sitting on the cable. It is designed for a charging cable with a straight plug at the end. Mine came with a 12 volt plug with a 90 degree male end. It didn't fit properly in the space allotted under the dock, with a cable notch cut out where it was and allowing the cable to make a sharp 90 degree turn at the end. So I had to take a Dremel tool and cut another embossed notch in the plastic base to make it work. "Hello Bose!" - Cut out two relief notches at the base. One for a straight fork, the other for a 90 degree fork. It will not cost and help the customer.
