Short-term solution to keeping food cool

These are a rather expensive way to keep your frozen foods and other perishables cold for a couple of hours. The manufacturer says they will aid in keeping food frozen for a "couple of hours” and I accept that as a reasonable estimate. Throwing in a few ice packs might prolong that time a bit. These are definitely more convenient than something like an Igloo cooler. They fold flat, which is great. Just put them in the trunk and take them out when you need them. You have to put in a cardboard bottom to make them still all around. Each inside surface has a foil covering. The straps seem solid enough to carry a reasonable load of perhaps 10 to 20 pounds. The straps are long enough to permit comfortable carrying. The inside dimensions of 14.5 x 10 x 10" are adequate for a reasonable amount of groceries, but even with our two-person household, both bags would probably be needed for our weekly shopping trip. On the whole, I think they are somewhat7 over-priced, but that is balanced by their high utility value.Jerry

Pros
  • Travel & To-Go Food Containers
Cons
  • The bags are not suitable for frequent use

These were a bit smaller than I expected, but they still will easily fit 2-3 plastic grocery bags worth of items into each one. I love that they fold up so compact, but you have to remove the bottom to fold them up. I much prefer the insulated grocery bags to the regular canvas ones, even though they are pricier, as they keep my frozen and cold foods in the trunk of my hot car from melting while I run multiple errands. I was not happy though, with the fact that there were long loose threads around the lid of the bags. It makes me worry that the stitching of the bags may fail over time.
