At first my daughter loved these skates. She's always wanted a pair for herself and this seemed like exactly what she wanted, comfortable, stylish, with wheels so light! But after using them weekly at the local roller rink, she's not so happy. She doesn't like "rolling". I don't think she slips that far. She doesn't like the front stopper, it's hard plastic and she would prefer something more like rubber, and she doesn't like the velcro. Perhaps the strap will add support/stabilization to the legs. Perhaps this is just to prevent the laces from dragging or getting in the way and becoming a potential trip hazard. But they end up tearing and tearing the laces.
