2016 Ram 2500HD The factory antenna was bent many times by the car wash without removing the antenna, very lucky just bent the antenna and didn't completely rip it off the truck and cause serious damage . I chose this antenna over the short one because I needed an antenna that actually WORKS, the short antenna says there in the description "just for appearance", poor reception and if you go to You Tube they will prove it, short antenna does not work. I checked reception with the factory antenna, tuned to a very weekly AM station, I installed a new 17" antenna and didn't have the same reception, switched the factory antenna back to a strong AM station, went back to 17 inch transmitter gone antenna again unchanged, very good reception, same FM transmitter unchanged, new 17 inch antenna is just as good as the factory antenna, but this test was done in my driveway, how does it work while driving on the Freeway? Let me tell you that I have traveled all over the world playing AM and FM stations, I have not noticed any difference in reception and this new 17 inch antenna looks much better than the factory 31 inch -Antenna. Can I trust this new antenna? I don't think so, but it's easier to remove than the factory antenna, and if I forget to remove it, there's less chance of damage.
