This is in the children's room, stylish and simple. The ceiling is just under 8 inches and I'm glad I used the 1 inch hanger because the hanging rods are right above my head at about 6 inches. The light is the perfect brightness for the room. Installation wasn't too difficult, although I was missing two screws to attach the bracket to the electrical box. Make sure you have some wire stripping tools when installing this, the wires are about 3 feet long and if you don't have that long rod you will need to cut and strip. In the box, the motor was supposed to stick to these rubber grommets that screw onto the fan blades. These weren't fastened in my box but the motor worked fine.
