Our son grew up in Michigan and now lives in an apartment in San Francisco where there is no snow in the winter. Like most apartments in the San Francisco area, he doesn't have a lot of room to decorate or store things once he tears them down. We wanted to give him a gift to remind him of the winter snows "at home" so he would have a place to put it and not take up a lot of storage space. He leaves his little fiberglass Christmas tree up all year round because he has nowhere to store it, and it creates lovely ambient light all year round - plus a houseplant. He has put them under the Christmas tree and will keep them there all year round, albeit more for fun in the summer and because they glow they also provide good general lighting. Since they are battery operated, he can easily place them on his desk or countertop. As with all jewelry, purchasing is a matter of personal taste, but they were a good piece of jewelry at a good price.
