Convenient but not cumulative

As a new bearded dragon owner, I was obsessed with the temperature in the young bearded dragon enclosure. I put them on the walls indoors and they read about 10 degrees below actual temperature, give or take. As a result, I had to buy a temperature gun. I'm sure if the variance was constantly the same you could measure the temperature based on that and just add 10 degrees, but I didn't want that.
