The box itself is quite large but that's because all the pieces fit together, you just have to unfold and fold it up. As the info says, the pads are removable and really easy to clean. I was a little nervous that the cats wouldn't like it. The image of each product should please the lucky cats, but that doesn't mean you will. I'm very happy that I like it. They use it every day since we received it. From playing and chasing each other and being cover to lounging around and being a perch (fairly high vantage point from above) to watch for long periods or actually sleep. It really is the most satisfying thing when I look behind my computer desk and see little heads sticking out of drawers. As we got rid of a lot of furniture lately where my cat liked to sleep I was concerned and felt bad we removed their sleeping places and I never thought they would like it that much was just a backup but was amazed at how much they took it.
