This is my second of these devices in 4 years. Even though my last one dropped the "Ghost Coffee” this is still my favorite model. It's not too noisy and makes for a fairly even grind with minimal dust. I briefly tried a cheaper model (Cuisinart DBM-8) but found it noisier, created more coffee dust and took up more space! Two other features of this model are the easy choice of grinding degree and the automatic adjustment. Cut-off for the number of cups you want to brew (in terms of grind required). Personally, I always measure - I think it's a matter of habit. So while my first model ground whole beans for four years, I'd say it's a pretty good deal. I like strong, dark coffees, so I use beans with a higher oil content than light roast beans. In addition, they are quite easy to clean. The bean container (above) is unscrewable and comes with a brush so you can get to the grinding plates. The grounds container is also washable. Note: If you wash these items, do so by hand. Dishwashers can leave a bad odor on the plastic, not to mention they aren't compatible with heat, so you may warp some parts. I recommend this coffee grinder - it really is worth the money.
