Review on WeldingCity Tungsten Electrode Tri Element Non Radioactive by Mark Callaham

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It is NOT non-radioactive

I have a Radex One geiger counter which I put on top of a new pack of 10 .040 x 7 electrodes. For comparison I also used two packs of red 2% Th electrodes I had on hand and got readings of 0 .56 µS/ h and 1.08 µS/h welding supplier If you divide the measured value by the volume of the electrodes, I get completely different numbers for 2% thorium (no, I didn't mix up the data - I measured to be sure) at 0.08 µS/h per cm3 ( 3/32") and 0.35 µS/h per cm³. cm (1/16"). These "Tri-Mix" 0.040 electrodes show 0.12 µS/h per cm³. Not bad, but definitely radioactive.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Faulty
