Lower Quality Cargo Net - MULTIPLE Flaws

This is definitely a **low quality** built cargo net that has several design and construction flaws, some of which have already been pointed out. agree with the points of M. Pierce, Dan L., and Jack D., et al. - - - CORD, KNOT AND GRILLE The cord used may be latex as indicated, but . . . . - it is a much thinner cord (see photo) AND - the area and strength of its elasticity is quite small. (hard to show in the photo) Even in a slack state, this line does NOT have much tension or "tension". It stretches easily and is a bit sluggish. It's just not very strong or tight. Second, tying the hole string to make the net is NOT secure enough to prevent the net from shifting or deforming, especially the knots on the four outsides. The cable slips easily in places, causing some parts to be tight while others "sag". (see photos) Third, this net is a 5x5 grid with 4 "square" holes. This CAN be "good" for someone who just wants to hold a helmet or other fairly large or bulky items, but the holes are easy too big.. and loose to be secure even with slightly smaller items...without the risk of them slipping out (especially considering the knot slippage mentioned above.) For example, I sometimes used my old luggage net on my seat to secure my heavy wheel cable lock to carry and hold when you go somewhere. This STREAMLED cargo net does NOT keep it securely in my seat. Higher quality cargo nets use knotted mesh with 2" square holes which are smaller, tighter and more secure. (**See Side-by-Side Comparison Photo**)- - -HOOKSThese hooks have *some* advantages, but... There are also a number of shortcomings or problems. To their credit, they're made of flimsy but durable plastic coated metal. The small size of the hooks allows me to hook/secure them to the edge and under my seat even with the seat down and closed. . HOWEVER, the disadvantages outweigh those listed above. - The coating on the hooks is thin and can easily crack or wear away, exposing the metal and possibly scratching the paintwork. - As others have noted, the plastic end caps come off too easily without tools after purchase. (see photo) - And the worst thing for me are the hooks to attach the luggage net. The hooks attach to the elastic cord with a curved loop (something like a bobby pin or cotter pin). They CAN come loose in some situations. They need to be bent or crimped and then tightened with pliers to ENSURE they stay on. (**SEE PHOTOS)- - -I am **not** happy with this cargo net. Sending it back is too complicated for me. I will keep it as a backup or spare but I would NOT leave it for regular use.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish
