Review on Cape Cod Horsehair Detail Brush by Constance Rodriguez

My grandma left me all her silver set when she died and I was good at keeping it clean but since we moved to Texas I think the humidity isn't good for him because he is completely black after 8 months. and I mean SO damn black. This set actually belonged to my great-grandmother and is over 120 years old. That's great! I actually had to wash it first and that took some of the black off. There are several items in this set that have extremely intricate details and I never do a super clean on them. I chose this brush to get to those spots. When I received this brush, I thought: There is no way this soft brush will harm my silver. boy was i wrong! I put some cleaner on the brush and started cleaning the silver. I used it on one of the grape and grape design serving plates around the outer 3 inches of the plate and then rinsed it in warm water. I was amazed at how clean the cutlery is! It looks amazing. <My mom won't have a heart attack seeing this!> This plate is one of the oldest things, so I know I'll never be able to 100% clean it, but I know it will diminish in value. so i can deal with it. I think the black color around the pattern really brings out the beauty! When I'm done, I've cleaned the brush with Dawn and warm water and it's ready for the next cleaning. I did notice some hair coming out, but I attribute that to the hair getting stuck in the really tricky parts of the silver - so that's to be expected. But only a few hairs came out. The brush is in excellent condition. Can I recommend this brush? ABSOLUTELY! If he can clean my silver as neatly as ever you won't be disappointed! I cleaned the whole set - which took 2 weeks <yes I have a lot of parts> and it looks beautiful! I even cleaned some of my silver jewelry and it got into places I couldn't get to and looked brand new. I will be buying more so I will never part with this brush!
