I'm a girly mother (with long acrylic nails) who is moving into an unfurnished apartment with my student. I like this bench: great price, very durable, good quality, no paint smell. Very easy assembly, the lid is already screwed on. As a pessimist, a few reviews of assembly issues worried me, but there were enough people claiming assembly was easy, so I bought it. It's not clear why some people have reported having problems and needing "grinding, drilling, gluing" and "cleaned screws". The tools (hex key and small wrench) are included and I had no problems with the assembly. There's no need to remove the screws to keep them strong. I think it's like giving a recipe to a group of people and everyone gets different results based on their talent. A 10-year-old child could assemble it successfully.
