That's pretty much all everyone else has said. But it sounds good if you're willing to customize it.

After reading all the reviews I took a chance and was glad I did. I like small projects. I wanted a decent auto return player with a good cartridge. I ordered it and it looks nice with a nice flip plastic cap big enough for the tonearm to snap back on. I read the instructions and carefully and carefully installed the tonearm weight. Then I had to align the cartridge, it was obviously far away, so I printed and aligned Stupid Protractors -Baerwald from vinylengine.com. Then I set the weight, ignoring the markings on the weight and using the appropriate arm scale https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HRJ9NAY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 after some testing to about 2, 3 grams . and an error like 2 seemed too easy. Installed and started, but the built-in preamp abruptly cut off the beginning and end of the songs. So I turned off the internal preamp and got https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08171SRGS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 a new external preamp. Plugged in and works like a champ. To be honest I think it sounds great, seems solid. With other purchases I still think it's good value for money as it's hard to find an auto return turntable in this price range. Thank you to everyone else who left a review earlier which helped me understand what I was getting myself into.
