Mixed feelings - electric

There seems to be a common misunderstanding among designers and engineers. We don't want the DMM to beep every time we change something, whether it's turning a dial or pressing a button. It ages very quickly and in my case causes problems in my home electronics workshop. Just got a refund for two different multimeters that did the same thing, but I will say this one is quieter than the other two. While the other two I mentioned, other residents came up to me and asked me to stop whatever I was doing. There is a star deduction for that alone, although it is a bit softer than the others. At least in form and function. This is a very well built unit including 1000V category IV sensors. Series shunt fuses are also suitable. The thermocouple isn't exactly exciting, it's a cheap, average quality part that gets the job done. It comes with a black nylon pouch for everything, nothing fancy but I appreciate it and will use it. Functionality, I have a few doubts, not listed in order. The non-contact measurement is displayed in a free-form LCD 0-4 line format. I have another device from another manufacturer that displays EMF in Tesla. For me it does not matter or is the decisive criterion. The meter jumps in the low range (I've seen up to 150mV) without checking the voltage source, both when setting the AC and DC voltage. Not sure if there is any logic to detect this artifact or if it is bad solder/contact. This is a problem for me as I need to measure voltages below 500mV with at least 10mV accuracy and I prefer to use the bottom range of the DMM instead of pulling the oscilloscope setup every time. Can I trust the voltage accuracy of this device? May be. This is definitely a rough estimate, but I'll post a calibration/evaluation later this week when I have time to get all the hardware out. EDIT: Yes, I am aware of the voltage potentials created by moving/dynamic EMFs, and while this can result in low jitter in data collection devices, it's an issue when my other two gauges placed in a proxy aren't Experiencing same problems, all with no pins connected, with pins connected, in various attempts at refutation I could not determine the source of these ghost values. Resistance measurements show jitter; This is probably due to later oxides on the probes. Easy to fix, not really worried. A delta function is great for many measurements, one of which is resistance measurement. The capacitance function doesn't calculate a farad above 1F, the actual upper limit is somewhere between 1F and 7000mF. This means I cannot rate my large/medium and some small supercapacitors in my inventory. It seems to work well for the little ones though. If your capacitors are less than 7000uF then this block is for you. This block has one of the strongest and most pleasing backlights of any block I've used. I want it to stay longer. For this he received a star, among other things for the quality of the interface. The interface is great, the dial is recessed and feels exceptionally solid. The buttons are arranged, positioned and assigned in a sensible way, but you can still see it in the pictures. Overall I think this counter will last and is well built. I'm not sure about the accuracy of many functions, but I'd like to calibrate them to lab standards to make them acceptable. I don't think this counter is worth $60. This will be my 6th or 7th DMM that I own and I still haven't found one that outperforms the $9 Chinese direct meter I bought over 10 years ago in terms of performance and accuracy. I was expecting something more sophisticated at this price point but this will probably suit most people's needs, again there are cheaper devices with similar quality of features, they will only be less durable than this device by half. Price. This DMM gets 2/5 from me, could be better and the price is not what you get. I think I'd be just as happy with a $15 device. I could send it back.
