I just bought a new Dell 8300 when my old Dell fell apart! I wanted USB 3.0 but really didn't want to wait another 3 weeks for it to be built in during Dell manufacturing. I read the reviews on this board and thought I'd try deploying the card myself. I had some concerns putting in a board that needed to be connected to an internal power supply. I can open my computer, plug it in, and shut it down, but not having to plug anything into a power source got me thinking. But knowing Revain's return policy, I figured if it was above my level I could return the board. It's 8300. The board has arrived. Opened the computer and made me a little worried. I plugged it into the PCI slot, plugged in the power cord (RIGHT NOW!), shut down the computer, and turned it on. ALL USB 3.0 devices worked GREAT! USB 3.0 is MUCH faster than USB 2.0 and the board works perfectly! If you can connect a monitor and an external power supply, you can plug in this board. No fear!
