Pros: large battery, very sensitive, efficient navigation and movement, detachable main brush ends for detangling tangled hair, performance on hard floors. Cons: Price, poor quality mid- to low-pile carpets Verdict: Get the 360 S5 for about $300 less. Let me start this review by saying I'm completely blown away by the 360 S5 and really intrigued by the upgrades that should come with the 360 S9. Unfortunately, the S9 fared worse on most metrics I tested. The navigation of this robot is great. It's efficient, few stops and stationary turns, it basically combines forward motion with turns to cover space faster. Laser mapping is also very good, multiple floor plans can be saved. The ultrasonic sensor on the front doesn't replace some of the camera AI and laser-based obstacle avoidance features that have become popular in robot vacuums of late, but the S9 doesn't. It costs the same as S6 Max, Ecovacs N8 or AIVI. This means that this vacuum rarely touches visible obstacles. There's a bump sensor on the front, but it's often not needed, which is nice for those worried about not scratching the walls. this vacuum opens in an intuitive direction. The 360 S5 opens at the back, which faces the dock and the wall, which made opening difficult at times. The trash can is smaller than on the S5 to make room for a water tank for mopping. This seems to be a trend with new robot vacuums, as many of them offer self-cleaning bins that don't require large bins on board. I don't see any benefit, especially when it costs $200-$300 more. To make matters worse, the S9 has no self-draining option anyway. I tested in my free time. If you've seen Vacuum Wars or Smart Robot Reviews on YT, I did garbage collection tests by weighing and weighing mixed garbage on a scale after the robot completed a run. Hard floor performance is excellent. Meets or exceeds every vacuum cleaner I've tested. The 360 S5, Roborock S5 and this 360 S9 collected 99% of the garbage. Other vacuums included the Ecovacs T8 AIVI, Roborock E4, Neato D6, Roomba i7, Dreame D9, Mijia 1S, the older fixed brushroll Yeedi K700 and their own model 360 C50. The pickup was inferior to any vacuum I've tested except for the C50. He had a particular problem with sugar just thrown on the floor. I can only imagine that deep-seated dirt would be a big problem for this vacuum cleaner. While I give 360 points for a large battery, excellent navigation, and fixing a few issues, 5200mAh batteries are available on many robot vacuums in this price range. and the right lid hinge. Navigation improvements can be largely ignored as they reduce overall floor cleaning time by just a few minutes. What really matters with these things is how well they suck. bad pun. and this one just can't handle the price, especially as the company's flagship model. I really like my 360 S5 and am amazed at its performance, but the S9 was disappointing. Even before they slashed the prices of the S5 (around $250), they were great vacuums. Now that they regularly drop to 200 or even 170, there's just no reason not to buy it unless you really need to mop the floor or want to jump into obstacle avoidance and/or self-draining. In our days.
