I have a small house and most outlets are under or behind shelves, desks etc. It helps to plug in the strip once and then access it when needed. I don't overload. This pole has a flat plug to keep the cord from bending when you press on a shelf or other object. Since I use it at a small table in the guest room, I chose it because it includes two USB ports. Allows use of a lamp and a clock, as well as any rechargeable items the guest may have. Great kids anyone? I am satisfied with the purchase, I will buy more, I will recommend.
