I bought this stool for my wife to keep in her bedroom closet for easier access to the top shelf. I actually have a shorter (7 inch or so) version in my own closet so getting to the top shelf isn't that hard. I love that we can leave them folded and leaning against the wall when not in use, so they take up almost no space. When you need this chair, it unfolds very quickly and just as quickly folds back down when you are no longer using it. I'm an adult and he doesn't get stressed about my weight. It doesn't wiggle, but it can 'wiggle' A LOT, so I don't think I'll be using it for a long project (like painting a wall). But for short-term use, like grabbing something off a high shelf, it couldn't be better, especially as it folds very compactly. Very important.
